Thank You Lord

Thank You Lord

Hallelujah!!

Praise Your Name

Glorious God -

our Savior and our King.

Glory and honor to You

Thank You, Lord, for this day in glorious May.

The day that you have made.

We rejoice!

and are glad to be  members of Your family.

Bless this body of spirits in Your Holy Spirit

of the Redeemer Son.

Praise You, Lord

for the rain which falls to nourish the earth

and replenish the soil

with abundant food from heavenly clouds

looming overhead -

as I rest upon my comfortable bed.

Thank You, Dear Mother God

for Your bosom-filled source

of abounding richness for the enrichment

of the earth

surrounding where we as men gather and toil.

Thank You for Your awesome work

in created glory.

Make us continually into Your image

and deliver us from the throes

of the adversarial thrusts.

Conform us to the character and nature

of Jesus our Lord

to honor You in all that we do.

Praise the Lord!

Highest praises to You all the day through.

Amen

Man's Religion

Man's religion
has become
"an order"
of institutions
ordered by man
to mean
being "locked up"
in a system of
a "way" of faith

Which too often
breeds
hate and racism
and a host
of other prejudices!
and destructive
"deals"
(as the history book reveals)

What does it say today?

Man's religions
can be seen
as the most dangerous
and prejudiced!
and mean-spirited!
"institutions"
on earth!!

Where man often
practices
unswerving devotion
to "the order"
as "man" teaches
it to be

Where man
hides

And where
man's religion
replaces
God
and becomes
the idol
instead of
the rod (that which guides).

Hypocrites!

A hypocrite pretends to be sincere,
saying one thing,
but doing another -
feigning to be one thing,
but underneath the covers,
a false pretender
assuming an appearance of piety
by appearing
outwardly to be sober and righteous,
but heart filled with malice and strife
in his two-faced
pictured exhibition
showing on the outside one face
but the inside face hides the other
filled with secrets deceitfully
affecting virtue,
but possessing the qualities of a counterfeit,
pretentious, moralizing, fraudulent fake
scorning the sins of others
in pompous airs and posings,
while sitting in judgment on the lowly
from a self-made high chair,
presupposing to be holy
in his self-satisfied pride
and self-righteous glory.
But let it be said:
"You pretenders - hypocrites!
Truly did Isaiah prophesy of you
when he said -
these people draw near Me
with their mouths
and honor Me
with their lips,
but their hearts
are faraway from Me." Matt. 15:7

He Maketh Me to Lie Down in Green Pastures

My cup runneth over

as I travel pass the majestic trees

'long Pelham Parkway

beholding the stately regal

beauty to the landscape

which so elegantly grace the thoroughfare

stretchng out as eagles' wings

opened wide to enter in the breeze

which frolics between the leaves

lapping in the enfolding embrace

of the earth's fertile soil

rich with splendor seeds

to feed the branches

cast in noble formations

entwined in shades of emerald's glory

by creation's imagination

spoken to come forth

from the brown ground

to make peaceful pastures

within the concrete wilderness

where I bathe in nature's

restoration to the soul.

The Lord is My Shepherd (Psalm Twenty-three)

The Lord is my Shepherd
is a family anthem
His goodness and mercy
has followed us all the days of our lives
His staff and His rod
comforted me
as I sang it at my mother's bedside
when she was failing in health
I sang its verses
where my mother's grave reside
Standing in the shadow of death
I raised my voice to the sky
to let the angels know
my mother was passing by

The Lord is my Shepherd
is psalm twenty-three
passed on from my grandparents to me
and has fed many in my family
as a food for strength and courage
and a light on the path to glory
When the path becomes
bleak and lonely with worry
He leads us to the throne
of His righteousness
to be priests unto God in His mighty story
written before the foundations of earth
and divinely made known
to the Shepherds in the field
that Mary had given birth
to Jesus our Christ
Who paid the ultimate price
in His Calvary sacrifice

Jesus is the Good Shepherd
Who restores my soul
from my Mamas to my Papas
to my mother to me
to be His family in spirit and love
to honor our Father
Who art in the heavens above

The Lord is my Shepherd
I shall not want
He has prepared a table before me
in the presence of my enemies
anoints my head with oil
my cup runneths over
as I am filled with the praises to God
so righteous and holy
Who dwells within me
to God be the glory
Who has given me the words
to tell this story

The Lord shepherds my head
to rest in the green pastures
of peace and tranquility
and the still waters run within my soul
as refreshing springs of life unfold
and restoration comes
in God we behold

The Lord is our Shepherd
We are His sheep
and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord
for all eternity
my sister, my family, and me

Praise the Lord.  Amen
